MUMBAI: With their next film New York ready for release, Yash Raj Films has signed actor Parmeet Sethi to direct his debut film for the banner.
Sethi made his big screen acting debut with Yash Raj Films’ Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, and will also debut as director under the same banner, joining the league of actors turning directors.
The pre-production work on the film has already begun. According to sources close to the development, the film will be shot in Bangkok and Singapore among other places.
The source also reveals that Shahid Kapur will most probably be playing the main lead in the film as talks between Kapur and Sethi are going on. As for the female lead decisions are still being taken.
When contacted by Businessofcinema.com, an official spokesperson from Yash Raj Films said. “Yes talks are going on with Parmeet Sethi and once decisions are taken we shall let you know.”
The film is likely to go on floors by June, 2009.
