MUMBAI: The husband – wife duo of actors Parvin Dabas and Preeti Jhangiani have launched their own production house called Very Fishy Films.
The first film to be produced under the new banner is titled Sahi Dhande Galat Bande and will be directed by Dabas.
Dabas has acted in films like Khosla Ka Ghosla, Dillagi, Monsoon Wedding, The Hero: Love Story of a Spy and Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara amongst others. On the other hand, Jhangiani made her big screen debut in 2000 with Mohabbatein directed by Aditya Chopra under the Yash Raj Films banner.
Sahi Dhande Galat Bande is an action comedy and stars Dabas, Anupam Kher, Sharad Saxena along with Vansh Bhardwaj, Kuldeep and newcomer Tina Desai. The film was shot in 30 days, in a village called Kanjhawala, near Delhi. Currently, the post production work of the film is on.
Speaking to Businessofcinema.com, Jhangiani said, "The film is very different from the other Hindi films and we are planning to take the film to the Toronto Film Festival, before its release. It’s an action comedy with a political twist."
The release date has not been finalized as yet, but they plan to release the film sometime before Diwali. According to Jhangiani, plans are to produce at least two films a year under the new banner.
