Mumbai: Percept Picture Company has formed a joint venture with Cape Town based production company Clockwork Zoo for a slate of movies to be shot next year.
In addition to this, the collaboration will also look at explore services in animation for the Disney Channel and sports programming.
The development took shape recently when Percept Limited’s joint managing director Shailendra Singh was in Cape Town, South Africa for the shooting of Percept’s Tasveer starring Akshay Kumar, which is being directed by Nagesh Kukunoor.
The partnership involves work on five movies. Clockwork Zoo is already line producing Tasveer. Speaking to Businessofcinema.com, Singh says, "Another film on the Percept slate will be pushed through Clockwork’s offices in Cape Town and Percept will also leverage three further Bollywood films to shoot in South Africa."
"With its partners in London and Brussels, Clockwork Zoo is securing co-production and service work in animation, feature film and sports programming. Most notable is an animated series for The Disney Channel (co-prod) and a slate of features for Percept Picture Company," he added.
