Mumbai: Percept Picture Company’s latest animated flick Jumbo with Akshay Kumar’s voice is up for release on 25 December. While the movie is currently releasing only in Hindi, Percept will also be dubbing and releasing the movie in Punjabi on 2 January.
Percept Picture Company CEO Navin Shah confirmed, "Yes, we will be dubbing Jumbo in the Punjabi language, especially because after Singh Is Kinng Kumar has a huge audience following in Punjab."
Cricketer Yuvraj Singh will dub for the movie in Punjabi. Apart from Singh, Kapil Dev was also being considered for the voiceover.
The Punjabi version will release on 2 January, a week after the Hindi version release. "It will take only a week’s time to dub the movie in Punjabi, so depending on the response we may go forward with the decision," added Shah.
Apart from Kumar, Jumbo’s Hindi language version has voices of Dimple Kapadia, Lara Dutta, Gulshan Grover and Rajpal Yadav. The voices of other characters too may change in the Punjabi version.
