Percept to release Vishesh Films’ Jannat on 2 May

MUMBAI: Percept Picture Company has joined hands with Vishesh Films for the distribution of Emraan Hasmi starrer Jannat. The film will release worldwide on 2 May.
The backdrop of the movie Jannat is based on cricket and Hashmi is essaying the role of a bookie in the film. Incidentally, the film will release during the IPL series.
Announcing this venture, Percept joint managing director Shailendra Singh said, "Jannat has a lethal combination of cricket and entertainment and in the ongoing phase of commercialization of cricket through IPL, we have a great movie to offer. Moreover since Percept has specialized in marketing cricket since 20 years we are hopeful of creating a stir with this product."
Producer Mukesh Bhatt added, "This is for the first time that Vishesh Films has outsourced the entire rights to one studio. We have found a great partner in Percept for the distribution of our film and are hopeful of carrying forward this relation." 
Vishesh Films is currently in talks with Percept towards development of a few films. Elaborating on this Bhatt said, "I will tie up with companies only for the distribution of my films, I do not need a co-producer."
Jannat will also see the debut of Sonam Chauhan. The film has been made on a budget of Rs 150 million (Rs 15 crores). The music and home video rights of Jannat are with Sony BMG. For satellite rights, Percept is looking at syndicating the content with channels a la Jab We Met.
