MUMBAI: Katrina Kaif sure is riding high on the passionate waves of success. The British Asian Bollywood superstar actress is reaping rich dividends from her film investments of 2012. For the films Katrina chose in 2012 made a combined business of over 600 crores at the Box Office!
Yes folks, you read that right: 600 crores! Her 2012 releases, including Salman Khan’s mega success ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ and Shah Rukh Khan’s magnum opus ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’, all raked in massive money at the box office.
What’s interesting to note is that both these releases were from the same production banner: late Yash Chopra’s YRF Films. Added to that was her sexy item song in Dharma Productions’ ‘Agneepath’, which saw Katrina groove in front of handsome hunk Hrithik Roshan and muscle man Sanjay Dutt, and Katrina proved to be the winner at the ticket windows all through the year.
Katrina Kaif though was modest when quizzed about her incredible ‘600 Crore’ feat, and said, “It feels great to know that your films are doing well at the box office and that audiences are appreciating it. However, on a personal front, I do not obsess with numbers.”
We were witness to the down-to-earth Katrina at a recent airport sighting, where she was taking off for an undisclosed foreign location in the dead of the night. Katrina kept it real: elegant and simple in an all black ensemble. She chose to wear no makeup, a black V-neck tee, black jeans, black boots, a black scarf and dark black sunglasses. She was accompanied by her mother Suzanne and other members of her modest entourage, at the airport.
Katrina is busy working on the third installment of the ‘Dhoom’ franchise along with Aamir Khan and Abhishek Bachchan, which is scheduled for release Christmas 2013.
