CHENNAI: Call it the ‘Chennai Effect’ if you will. Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan was spotted in Chennai, being honoured with the Chevalier Sivaji award for his contribution to Indian cinema, over the weekend.

SRK is currently working on a film called ‘Chennai Express’, so it was only apt for yet another ‘Chennai’ connection to emerge in his hectic life. The superstar flew down to the coastal city of Chennai to receive the prestigious award, instituted in the name of veteran Tamil superstar Sivaji Ganesan.

Shah Rukh Khan, dressed formally in a black tuxedo, received the honour from Kamal Haasan and the family members of Ganesan, at the 7th Vijay Awards. Other recipients included Dhanush, Vikram and Samantha.

Shah Rukh Khan was elated at receiving the award from Kamal Haasan, when he said, “I have enjoyed working with Kamal Hassan and Ajith Kumar in my career. I may be the owner of Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL cricket league, but my favorite team is Chennai Super Kings!”

Later, Shah Rukh even proceeded to shake a leg with South superstar Vijay, dancing to the tunes of his super hit song ‘Google Google’ from his blockbuster ‘Thupakki’. He matched the actor step-for-step, and even unbuttoned and took off his blazer to match the attire of Vijay, in a white shirt and trousers.
