MUMBAI: Jyoti Amge the shortest woman in the world at a height of two feet was spotted on the sets of ‘Pyaar Mein Locha’ on 11 March 2013.
Jyoti Amge is all ready to give our Bollywood Divas a run for thier money! The two feet tall lady was spotted shooting in Malad, Mumbai for an item song that will be featured in an upcoming romantic film ‘Pyaar Mein Locha’. The little lady interacted and chatted with everyone on the sets and seemed to be enjoying herself.
What’s interesting is that this isn’t Jyoti’s first appearance on screen, she was last seen on ‘Bigg Boss 6’ and she will soon be seen as the lead in a film that is loosely based on her life story!
Confirmed Jyoti, “Apart from the item number, I also play the heroine. The shoot will begin next month after some rehearsals.”
Gone are the days when item songs were only for leggy beauties with sexy figures. We are slowly starting to break the moulds and make the much needed change. With films like ‘Udaan’ ‘Kahaani’ ‘Shaitan’ ‘Delhi Belly’ and ‘The Girl In Yellow Boots’ we can see that the Hindi film industry is breaking its norms and supporting cinema that is more content driven. These are some of the films that mark the beginning of the change that Bollywood is going to witness and Jyoti is an example of one such very important change.
Says the film’s director Arhan Akhtar, “The lyrics of this two-and-a-half minute item number go, Chai se zyada pyaali garam, hoton se zyada laali garam. It will be pacy, but not vulgar. The movie will reflect Jyoti’s real life and how, despite being vertically challenged, she combats all difficulties and makes a name for herself. Actor KK Goswami has been cast opposite Jyoti.”
