MUMBAI: Starcom’s Manish Porwal will be joining Percept’s talent company – Percept Talent Management (PTM) as CEO with effect from 7 January, 2008.
PTM is a 50:50 JV between Percept Holdings and Lachlan Murdoch’s Illyria Pty Ltd.
Percept will revamp its talent business model with Porwal at its helm. His role will entail driving PTM’s vision 2010 based on a five-point charter:
- To build Talent Asset base
- To build assets for in-house Talents and Clients
- To build and provide long-term “Surround Brands†for its Talent
- To build and launch ‘Talent AOR’ Business
- Build industry Best Practices

Porwal has been with Starcom since May 2003, when he joined as the general manager (investment and new initiatives). He was promoted as the executive director in 2005 and was later promoted as the managing director, India (West and South).
Percept Holdings joint managing director Shailendra Singh said, “The business of talent is huge. We have spent 14 years in this space, but I believe we have only just begun. If learnings from the developed nations are any indication, one day all talent in India will be owned, managed and leveraged by talent companies. With Manish’s background and commitment to the Vision, I am sure Percept will have a significant role to play towards this change.â€
The talents currently on board with PTM are Randeep Hooda, Sandhya Mridul, Anousha Dandekar, Vidyut Jamwal, Mohit Chadda, Alyy Khan, Vivana, Zila Khan and Strings.
