The straight-forward Saif Ali Khan admits that with ‘Race 2’ there was too much focus on style, and promises to provide more substance in the next installment of the series.

MUMBAI: Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has confirmed that he has signed the next installment of the ‘Race’ franchise.

Says the Nawab of Pataudi, “Yes, I am doing ‘Race 3’.”

While the Abbas Mustan thriller did quite well at the box office, (almost touching the coveted Rs 100 crore mark at a total of approximately Rs 93 crore net), the film received a lot of flak on its content.

The straight-forward Saif Ali Khan admits that with ‘Race 2’ there was too much focus on style, and promises to provide more substance in the next installment of the series.

Said Khan, “We all felt that ‘Race 2’ was a little plastic, so we are working towards making the third one more impactful. It will have more substance to meet the style.”

Insiders reveal that writer Shiraz Ahmed has already thought of a couple of concrete ideas for ‘Race 3’.

What about a sequel to his other spy thriller ‘Agent Vinod’?

“AV (Agent Vinod) sequel will not happen. I’m heartbroken by the first one. I think it had the wrong mixes of style,” shares the honest actor. Quickly moving on to talking about his upcoming film – Tigmanshu Dhulia’s ‘Bullet Raja’, Saif added, “It’s no Omkara, but we are close.”
