MUMBAI: Yesteryear actor Sachin Pilgaonkar has directed a film called Jaana Pehchanaa for Rajshri Productions.

A source close to the film informs Businessofcinema.com, “Yes Sachin has directed a film for Rajshri Productions as well as acted in the film along with Ranjeeta.”

Jaana Pehchana is an emotional love story in the wake of Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se (1978). The movie will see Sachin and Ranjeeta in lead roles continuing the classic love saga Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se after 32 years. Junior Mehmood, Birbal and Pardesi will also be seen as supporting cast playing the same roles as in the earlier evergreen film.

Shooting of the film is complete and the post production work is in progress. The film is likely to release mid 2011.

"Jaana Pehchana will be loved by one and all, transcending the age barrier, as love is never bound by age or image. It just happens," said Sachin.

Jaana Pehchana is produced by Kamal Kumar Barjatya, Rajkumar Barjatya, and Ajit Kumar Barjatya. The movie has lyrics and music by Ravindra Jain and the story idea is by Aarti S Bagdi. Cinematography is by Rahul Jadhav, editing by Faizal-Imran.

Additionally, the shooting of Rajshri’s next venture – Love U… Mr. Kalakaar! is also complete. The movie stars Tusshar Kapoor and Amrita Rao and is directed by debutant S. Manasvi. It is slated to release on 13 May, 2011 and is a story of an artist’s simplicity amidst the dynamic corporate world.
