MUMBAI: Controversial filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has done it again. Courting controversy seems to be his middle name, for the Bollywood director was spotted revealing his ‘Kasab’ to the media last evening.

At a press conference at a suburban mall in Mumbai, Varma introduced Sanjeev Jaiswal, the actor cast in his latest film ‘The Attacks of 26/11’ in the role of the terrible terrorist Mohammed Ajmal Amir Kasab.

Looking grim and serious in a checked shirt and white jeans was a sober RGV, as he is fondly known, introducing his latest find, Sanjeev Jaiswal to the media. The 24 year old actor, who debuted as the feared Pakistani terrorist who gunned down innocent people on the fateful night of 26 November in 2008, looked nervous to be unveiled in front of the media.

Sanjeev wore a plain red tee and jeans, and he spoke about his experience of playing the most wanted terrorist on celluloid. Said the youngster: “I was switching on and off when I played Kasab. I hate him as much as anyone else in India does.”

Showing his gratitude to Varma for “the role of his life”, Jaiswal said: “I have been hunting for roles for many years, but got the break of my life. People love me, but hate my character in the film.”

Reportedly, Jaiswal was cast after Ram Gopal Varma auditioned forty people for the part. Says the filmmaker, who instantly knew he had found his title character on seeing his audition tape, “Once I saw him, I didn’t want to meet anyone else.”
