Ranveer Singh is all set to present himself as a rapper for the first time in an upcoming television commercial.
Ranveer Singh, who has just been appointed as the brand ambassador of Durex, will don the hat of a rapper in the commercial, which will be launched on April 23, 2014.
“Over the past three and a half years that I’ve been a part of the Hindi film industry, I’ve declined several tempting endorsement offers. And now, finally, I’m doing the commercial for world’s leading brand Durex. I will also create awareness around se***l wellbeing and promote safe se* through this campaign,” Ranveer Singh said in a statement.
“Ranveer Singh always prefers to tread a different path. He knows how to exude confidence and attitude. A combination of all these factors, plus his growing popularity, made him a suitable choice for the brand. The brand feels that his cool dude image will be an asset to their campaign.” stated a source close to the actor.
According to reports, the Emraan Hashmi and Arjun Rampal were also approached for the ad, but as they declined the offer so Ranveer was considered to rope in.
Apart from the Durex commercial shoot, Ranveer Singh is currently busy shooting his new film Kill Dil with Parineeti Chopra in Delhi.
Kill Dil produced by Aditya Chopra is an upcoming romantic action film directed by Shaad Ali. The film stars Ranveer Singh, Parineeti Chopra, Govinda, Rani Mukerji and Ali Zafar in the lead roles.
Govinda will be seen playing a negative role in the film. Director of the film Shaad Ali described Kill Dil as a film about the tricks the heart plays on an unsuspecting victim of love.
If reports were to be believed then Deepika Padukone was the first choice to star opposite Ranveer Singh in Kill Dil. However, it was later officially declared that Parineeti Chopra had signed to do that role.
Kill Dil is set to release on November 14, 2014.
