MUMBAI: Anil Ambani’s Reliance Big Entertainment along with IM Global, will be financing DNA Films’ 3D movie Judge Dredd.
It may be recalled that Reliance Big Entertainment picked up a majority stake in IM Global last week.
The movie, which is budgeted at $45 million, is based on the 2000 A.D. comic book character and will go on floors by the end of this year.
Judge Dredd will be directed by Pete Travis (Vantage Point). The movie will also be showcased at the Cannes Film Festival market, which kicks off on 12 May, 2010. The script of the movie is by Alex Garland, who will produce with DNA Films’ Andrew Macdonald and Allon Reich.
Additionally, Reliance Big Entertainment and IM Global will also be showcasing the former’s new Hindi film slate – Rajkumar Hirani’s 3 Idiots, Anurag Basu’s Kites and Mani Ratnam’s Raavan at the Cannes Film Festival along with its older films.
