MUMBAI: At 23, she is perhaps the youngest producer in Bollywood and after the success of her first production Aisha, starring sister Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol, this young Kapoor girl is gearing up for her next production.
Rhea is working on ideas for two films and plans to go on floors with the first one by end October, 2010, followed by the second one, in end January or early February, 2011. While Rhea is not sure about the rest of the cast, she is pretty much sure that her sister Sonam will be starring in one of the films.
Speaking to Businessofcinema.com, Rhea said, “Right now I am in a space where my mind is clear and I have some great ideas going on in my mind. Both the projects that I am thinking of are fun and exciting projects and I am really kicked about them. I want to keep a fresh up-beat tone for my films but having said that, I don’t want to make the same kind of films again, just the tone will be similar.”
However, at the moment the Kapoor sisters are headed to New York for a much needed break after the release of Aisha. On being questioned as to whether she is going to be hunting for locations too while on holiday in New York, Rhea said, “I wish I could shoot in New York because I love the place, but that’s not feasible and also I feel there are a lot of good locations in India itself.”
Happy with the response that her first film has got, Rhea says, “I am very happy that Aisha has done well. I feel confident because we have made a profit, people have appreciated it and I have found my space, which is very difficult and takes a lot of time for a new producer to do that. I know Aisha was not a blockbuster per say (even though it would have been good if it were!), but I never came to make a blockbuster, I just made a film I believed in and enjoyed making, I wanted it to be a fun, peppy film and I am happy with the kind of response it has got. I look forward to making more fun films in the future!”
