MUMBAI: Producer – director Sangeeth Sivan has stepped up on his production plans. With the post production work of Ek and Click is being wrapped up, Sivan has now moved on with other films.
He will be producing two films for Rupali Entertainment, with whom he is also doing Click. The first film, which hits the floor this June is Kya Fool Hain Hum. Govinda and Sohail Khan have been roped in for this film.
Along with them, Ranvir Shorey and Rajpal Yadav will also be signing the film. About the title’s striking similarity with his earlier directed Kya Kool Hain Hum, Sivan says, “Well, the name has been registered by Rupali Entertainment; I have nothing to do with that.”
Sivan is now in search of three girls who will fit this comedy circle. It will be a medium budget project; the details are being worked out and will be directed by Ajay Chandok.
The second film with the same company is being directed by Ashwini Choudary, who directed Good Boy Bad Boy for Mukta Arts. Again a medium budget comedy, this film goes on floors later this year.
Sivan will be producing another film for One More Thought, headed by Azam Khan (ex-K Sera Sera) and Parvez Damania (ex-Kingfisher Airlines). This film will be directed by one of his assistant directors and is being made on a budget of around Rs 60 – 65 million (Rs 6 – 6.5 crores).
On being asked about his direction plans Sivan says, “I am taking it slow and steady. Right now I am concentrating on production and want to break free from comedy. Ek is an action flick while Click belongs to the horror genre. If it doesn’t work, I can always come back to comedy.”
Currently his assistants will be working on his forthcoming projects.
