Saregama’s first film to release on 22 June

MUMBAI: Saregama HMV’s first Hindi film titled Chain Kulii Ki Main Kulii, is slated for release on 22 June 2007.

The film, which went on the floors in January 2007, is a joint venture with Ken Ghosh’s Shadow Films and is directed by Kitu Saluja. The film stars Rahul Bose in the lead and tells the story of an orphan, Zain Khan who longs to be adopted. He comes across Rahul Bose, and from there the story transforms into a film about fun, fantasy and friendship.

Saregama managing director Subroto Chattopadhyay says, “We have been in the entertainment business for a very long time. Our entry into the film production business was a logical step looking at the scope in the Hindi entertainment market. Chain Kulii Ki Main Kulii is aimed at the urban multiplex going audience.”

“We are building an entertainment company which will create and market music, cinema, television and radio content. Aparna Sen (who has been inducted in the company’s leadership team recently) will help strategise film content and set up production processes. We are exploring cutting edge technologies in filmmaking and bringing in best practices in the way films are made,” he adds.
