Shah acquires part of Traffic Signal rights

MUMBAI: Distributor and financer Bharat Shah of VIP Films has acquired parts of Bombay circuit of Percept Pictures Company’s Traffic Signal, which is directed by Madhur Bhandarkar.

Shah says “Except for Bombay city, suburbs and Thane, I will be releasing Traffic Signal in Gujarat, Saurashtra, Maharashtra and parts of Karnataka. The rest of the circuit will be distributed by jointly by Shringar Films Pvt Ltd and Prime Focus.”

He further informs that he will be releasing the film with more than 50 prints. The film is scheduled to release on 2 February with more than 250 prints all over and 50 prints in the overseas.

The film stars Konkona Sen Sharma, Ranvir Shorey, Neetu Chandra and Kunal Khemu. Bhandarkar has proved lucky to the makers – Percept Pictures Company. Page 3, Corporate and now Traffic Signal were made on a budget of Rs 40 million (Rs 4 crores) each. Page 3 made a profit of Rs 30 million (Rs 3 crores), while Corporate made Rs 100 million (Rs 10 crore) profit.

Now it remains to be seen, how Traffic Signal fares at the box-office.
