MUMBAI: Shah Rukh Khan is probably the only actor to be associated with as many as four books, be it on his life or his movies.
At an event held on Tuesday night, Shah Rukh Khan, Farah Khan, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Rampal and Karan Johar released the book The Making Of Om Shanti Om and celebrated the success of their movie.
Amongst those present at the event were Sahara One Media and Entertainment head Subrato Roy, Mukta Arts’ Subhash Ghai, Suniel Shetty, Tabu, Sanjay Gadhvi, Karan Johar and Viveck Vaswani amongst others.
The book has been penned by Mushtaq Sheikh, who has also co-written the screenplay of Om Shanti Om with Farah Khan. Incidentally Sheikh even plays a cameo in the film. Prior to this Sheikh has also penned books like Making of Asoka and Still Reading Khan.
“If people enjoyed the movie Om Shanti Om even for a mini second and laughed while watching it, they will definitely enjoy reading the book,” said Sheikh.
Shah Rukh Khan further added, “It is wonderful to have a book written on a movie because years later people may forget the movie but the books still live.”
The book has been published by Om Publication. “And this is not a marketing gimmick. It is just a coincidence that our publisher’s name is also Om,” joked Khan. The book is being released initially with 10,000 copies.
