Shah, Studio18 to reassess London Dreams post completion

Mumbai: Vipul Shah’s directorial venture London Dreams, starring Salman Khan, Ajay Devgan and Asin, was is the news recently with reports claiming that Studio 18 had backed out of the project. However, the fact is that the two concerned parties have mutually decided to re-evaluate the deal once the movie’s shoot is complete.

When queried by Businessofcinema.com as to whether Studio 18 had backed out of the project, director-producer Shah says, "Studio 18 hasn’t given an official statement saying they are no longer a part of the project, but we have mutually decided to re-look the project after it is complete. After evaluating the market condition at that time, we will decide how to take things forward."

London Dreams completed its first shooting schedule in October in London and the second schedule will start in January. The film will be shot in Punjab and Mumbai for a period of 15 days with both Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan.

Shah further adds, "Recession affects filmmakers who make movies with other people’s money. I am far from being affected. London Dreams’ budget is intact. My movie’s shooting will be complete by February."

Studio 18 vice president marketing, distribution and syndication Priti Shahani refused to comment.

Shah, who works in close association with actor Akshay Kumar and his production house Hari Om Production, signs off saying, "Akshay and I will sit and decide the release dates of our movies mutually. He has two ready movies up for release next year, so we will not want the dates to clash. Also, next year Kites and some more big movies are scheduled to release. So we all will mutually decide the release dates of our movies."

Apart from London Dreams, Akshay starrers like Chandni Chowk To China, Tasveer and Blue are also scheduled to release next year.
