Shankar Mahadevan sings for Cartoon Network

MUMBAI: Children’s channel Cartoon Network has roped in singer-composer Shankar Mahadevan to sing the title track of The Justirisers, a new action series that will launch on the channel’s action block Toonami.

Mahadevan has been accompanied by an eclectic mix of talent that includes Amitabh Bhattacharya, the winner of Zee’s talent hunt Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, Abbhijit Ghoshaal, a Sa Re Ga Ma Pa finalist, composer Vidyut Goswami, Telugu lyricist B Easwar Rao and Tamil lyricist T A Kumar. He has lent his voice for all the three versions, – Hindi, Telugu and Tamil.

Says Turner International India vice president, advertising sales and networks, India and South Asia Monica Tata, “Cartoon Network constantly looks at trends across age and peer groups in various regions. This is the first time that Mahadevan has sung for a kids’ network. We are confident that kids will love this exciting action show along with its title tracks created especially for India.”

Starting 7 March 2007, the show will air on weekdays from 6 – 6.30 pm on Cartoon Network’s Toonami block.
