Mumbai: Shemaroo Entertainment has released director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury’s Bengali film Anuranan on home video. The DVD has both Hindi and Bengali language tracks.
Anuranan, a Screenplay Films production, got some phenomenal reviews from leading film critics like Subhash. K. Jha and Nikhat Kazmi among others. The film also got an official selection at nine prestigious film festivals and has been screened at several of them.
Shemaroo Entertainment director Hiren Gada says, "Anuranan has not only set a benchmark today among Bengali filmmakers, but also reached out to all directors who would love to handle matured relationships. It has certainly touched the hearts of audiences and will remain fresh and lingering in the minds of people. With Anuranan’s home video release, audiences can carry the film home and keep it with them for life."
Chowdhury adds, "Anuranan, my first film, has been like a breath of fresh air for me after the umpteen ad films that I created. It feels great to know that the film did well and has been appreciated by audiences. Surely the home video penetration is huge and will thus expose Anuranan to a larger audience. And in today’s age of watching films on DVDs and VCDs, Anuranan is definitely a movie which can be enjoyed in the four walls of your home."
The VCD is priced at Rs 149 and the DVD is priced at Rs 349.
