actress Shilpa Shetty has filed a defamation case against a mumbai based tabloid- Mid Day, for allegedly publishing false news linking her to a gangster.
The news dated 8 August, was about the arrest of gangster Fazl-ur-Rehman by the Delhi Police. It alleges that the Delhi Police is likely to quiz actress Shilpa Shetty and her parents for allegedly asking gangster Fazl-ur-Rehman
to make extortion calls to a Surat businessman, the owner of Parag Sarees.
Shilpa is upset as the published news has declared her guilty and confirms her to be a criminal. This mater is sub- judiced in Gujarat court and the tabloid has allegedly passed its judgment with least consideration to the law.
