MUMBAI: Shilpa Shetty visited Sydney and Melbourne on a two day tour to promote Anurag Basu’s Life in a Metro.
The film, being distributed by MG Distribution in Australia and New Zealand, releases internationally on 11 May 2007. Speaking at a press conference in Melbourne, held to coincide with the ongoing Cinema India exhibition, Shetty said she felt privileged to share screen space with some of India’s most talented actors and director Anurag Basu, whose survivor spirit for life is well reflected in the film.
Representatives from producers UTV traveled to Australia to screen an almost complete version of Metro to the mainstream Australian film reviewers.
MG Distribution director Mitu Bhowmick Lange says, “We had an amazing response to Shilpa’s visit, and to the opportunity for the broad Australian media to preview and review Life in a Metro. Shilpa is an incredibly articulate ambassador for Indian cinema and we were delighted to host her.”
