Mumbai: Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision recently locked a deal for all-India distribution rights of Subhash Ghai’s forthcoming film Yuvvraaj.
The deal is said to be struck for an amount of Rs 250 million (Rs 25 crores) including prints and advertising, contrary to the Rs 400 million (Rs 40 crores) figures floating in media and trade circles. It may be recalled that Businessofcinema.com was the first to report that Eros and Ghai have sold the all-India theatrical distribution rights of Yuvvraaj to Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision.
Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision director marketing and distribution Rupen Amlani confirmed the deal and said, "Yes, Ashtavinayak will distribute Yuvvraaj theatrically all India. The movie looks good and we fetched the rights for a good price, but I cannot disclose the price."
In recent times Shree Ashtavinayak partnered with Studio 18 for the worldwide distribution rights of all its movies. After a long gap now, the company has bought all India theatrical rights for any movie. Trade sources inform that Shree Ashtavinayak may further sell the sub distribution rights for territories.
Eros International will distribute the movie in the overseas.
Yuvvraaj stars Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Anil Kapoor, Mithun Chakraborty, Boman Irani and Zayed Khan. It is slated for release on 21 November. Yuvvraaj is produced by Mukta Arts and has music by A R Rahman. The music will be launched on 16 October.
