MUMBAI: Exhibition and distribution company Shringar Cinemas Ltd has now firmed up its film production plans.
Businessofcinema.com was the first to report in December last year that the company was mulling a foray into production. Shringar Cinemas will be making an investment of Rs 100 million (Rs 10 crores) over a period of time for the same.
The company’s managing director Shravan Shroff will be exploring various business modules in this regard.
Shringar Cinemas recently changed its name to Fame India. As has already been reported by Businessofcinema.com the film production and exhibition business will operate under the Fame India brand name, the distribution business will continue under the Fame umbrella as Shringar Films. “Currently it is a little premature to share details as there are no concrete plans but we will surely start movie production in the year 2008,” Shroff had then said.
