Sikhs attack MTV India office over “defamatory” poster

MUMBAI: A group approximately 70 Sikhs was arrested in Mumbai on Tuesday for attacking the MTV Networks India office.

The group was protesting over a "defamatory" poster for the career-based reality show On The Job2.

The poster showed a woman massaging a man while a Sikh youth looked at them. The group entered the MTV office in Lower Parel and went on a rampage damaging office property and equipment.

The campaign has the tagline – “Jobs Your Parents Won’t Understand,” and is being heavily promoted in the outdoor media.

MTV India vice president and general manager Ashish Patil said, “We have no idea about their objective or motive behind this act.”

The police later released the protesters on bail.
