Sonakshi Sinha Happy To Be Doing Lingaa With Rajinikanth

HT Awards-21Sonakshi Sinha, is one busy girl. From promoting Holiday with Akshay Kumar to shooting Tevar with Arjun Kapoor, this talent actress is not ready to rest. Now if Bollywood was not enough, Sonakashi Singh has spread her wings of talent down South as well.

Sonakashi Singh has just finished the first schedule with Rajinikanth for the film Lingaa and is very excited about the project.

Sonakshi Sinha post the shoot took on to twitter and wrote, “A beautiful day as I wrap up the first schedule for my first Tamil film Lingaa with an amazing crew that made me feel right at home!”

In Lingaa, Sonakshi is playing the female lead opposite southern superstar Rajinikanth in the film directed by K.S. Ravikumar. The first phase of Lingaa, which was shot in and around Mysore and Mandya in Karnataka, also stars Anushka and Jagapathy Babu.

Sonakshi’s character is set in the 1940’s era, and she is reportedly wearing make-up and outfits suitable to that time. The next schedule, is likely start in Hyderabad.

“I am part of the 1940s generation and I play a girl who helps Rajnikanth. The look and setting are completely new and I am quite kicked about my part.” stated a very Sonakshi.

Lingaa is special to Rajinikant as well for not one but two reasons. Firstly, Ligaa is the name of his grandson and secondly after about six years, Rajinikant will share screen space with star comedian Vadivelu.

Rajinikant and Vadivelu shared great chemistry onscreen in P.Vasu’s Chandramukhi, which created many memorable comic sequences. The duo was last seen together in Kuselan in 2008, but never worked post that, as there was a rift between the two.

Vadivelu apparently made a bitter remark on the Rajinikant during Tamil Nadu Assembly elections in the year 2011. Vadivelu’s comment did not go down well with the superstar who decided to distance himself from the big mouthed comedian.

Here’s wishing team Lingaa all the best!!
