MUMBAI: Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha dressed up in a Disco avatar is all set to dance her shoes off in Sajid Khan’s ‘Himmatwala’!

Sonakshi is going to be pulling off a rock-chic look, covered from head-to-toe in black. Leather pants, net mittens teamed with shocking pink (weird!) nails and a lot of bling completes her Disco look.

Says Sonakshi, “I had a blast revisiting the 80s, even before I was born.”

The set-up is a replica of the disco era of Bollywood. Sajid elaborated, “The whole set is reminiscent of discos of those times and I have drawn inspiration from discotheques that started back then such as Scorpio, Xanadu, RGs, Cellars and Take Off. I used to frequent those places and that’s how I made this entire set. It is my tribute to that era and that’s why you will see iconic elements from that time.”

The Giant disco ball, Pac-Man video games, posters of Sylvester Stalone, Madonna, Mithun Chakraborty, Rishi Kapoor, Tom Cruise is a travel back in time to the 80’s.

The director added, “The song titled ‘Thank God It’s Friday’ also reminds us of those times when both Saturday and Sunday used to be a holiday. I was clear that I wanted an A-lister for my opening song. Sonakshi and I have been friends from sometime now and know each other well.”

Sonakshi revealed more about the disco number at the Annual 19th Colors Screen Awards, “I am going to do an item number for Sajid Khan’s ‘Himmatwala’. I really do enjoy dancing. I am really looking forward to it….Mine is a very different song. It is a 1980s disco number and I am really looking forward to it.”
