Song Review: Hansee Toh Phasee, Melody Overpowers Zehnaseeb Visuals

Karan Johar has been very upbeat about the release of the song Zehnaseeb from his latest film Hansee Toh Phasee and trust me, once you hear the song you will also feel the same.

“One of my favourite love songs from a Dharma (Dharma Productions) film, Zahnaseeb from Hasee Toh Phasee. Dying to share it with all of you,” an upbeat Karan posted on Twitter.

Apparently Zehnaseeb is very close to Karan’s heart. It was this instance that the song has made its place in the film.

The song is lyrical; it is melodious and has a haunting quality to it. The song Zehnaseeb has been penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya and it explores the beautiful moments between Parineeti Chopra (Meeta) and Sidharth Malhotra (Nikhil) in the film. Initially, Shekhar Ravjiani sang the acoustic version, but later on Chinmayi Sripada was also roped in to lend her voice.

The music of the film has been composed by the talented duo Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani, who have managed to translate the emotion of love and romance through their music quite beautifully.

The song leaves you gasping for more but the visuals are a huge lead down. Both Parineeti and Sidharth are their usual self, she being this chirpy and bubbly one and he being this intense and brooding kind. The film has been in the news for its fresh pairing and looks like the makes have hit bull’s eyes with the casting.

All said and done, I would love to hear the full track if not see it, as this one is full of love and romance.

The film is all about the relationship between the quirky, rebellious Parineeti Chopra (Meeta) and an intense Sidharth Malhotra (Nikhil) struggling with their respective families to fit in.

Hansee Toh Phasee is directed by adman-turned director Vinil Mathew, and produced under the banner of Dharma Productions and Phantom Films. It is set to hit the theatres on February 07, 2014.
