Song Review: Samjhawan From Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania – Bad Copy

humpty sharma ki dhulaniamainIt’s a copy, it’s a bad copy and it lacks soul. Well, we are talking about the latest song Samjhawan from Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania.

The song sung by Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghosal is just another version of Main Tenu Samjhawaa Ki originally sung by legendry singer, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.

Samjhawan fails to create an impact thanks to the way Arijit Singh has rendered it, and also one cannot still forget the way Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has sung the original.

The original Samjhawan has the power to transport you to another world and this one from Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania is a bad copy. Moreover, as the song progresses, one definitely misses Rahat’s soothing Punjabi texture that has become synonym with the original Samjhawan. This new version is composed by Sharib and Toshi.

The video is picturised on Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt. Alia looks beautiful in her salwar kameez’s, colourful dupattas with jhumkas; whereas Varun looks the part of a boy totally in love.

All said and done, looks like Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania is a COPY all the way, be it’s story like which is inspired from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge or the two songs that are out – Saturday and Samjhawan.

Meanwhile, the movie’s rap beat Saturday Saturday has received more than 1 million views, after which, Alia Bhatt, excitedly shared over the social media that she cannot believe the song is still trending.

Directed by Shashank Khaitan, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania is said to be an ode to all time love classic, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge.

Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania starring Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan is set for a July 11, 2014 release.
