MUMBAI: The countdown to the Oscars has begun and Star Movies will be airing movies that have been honored by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in the past on Oscar Fever.
Star Movies will also be airing the live telecast of the 79th Annual Academy Awards.
The channel will showcase the exclusive premiere of blockbuster films in February, which will be aired every night at 11 pm. Academy award winning films like Braveheart, Speed, Babe, Con Air, Cape Fear, Cinderella Man, Sideways, Million Dollar Baby, Crimson Tide, Shakespeare in Love are some of the films that will be aired.
The Oscar Fever on Star Movies culminates with the live telecast of the 79th Annual Academy Awards on 26 February.
This year’s host is comedienne-turned-US talk show host Ellen DeGeneres.
Every Friday night at 9 pm, Star Movies will premiere films like Red Eye, Flight Plan, Hotel Rwanda and Walk the Line.
On 14 February, Star Movies will air romantic films like Maid in Manhattan, Win a Date with Tad Hamilton, Shallow Hal, A Guy Thing and The Perfect Catch.
On 18 February at 8:30 pm., host Terence Yin will present Opening Night with exclusive scenes from this year’s highest Academy Award nominated film, Dreamgirls.
