MUMBAI: Showman Subhash Ghai unveiled a host of new talent, with six lead actors for his two new films, which will be produced under Mukta Searchlight Films.
The two movies – Love Express and Cycle Kick are directed by debutants and will release on 27 May, 2011.
The event began with the music release of Rituparna Ghosh’s Kashmakash, a Hindi version of his Bengali film Noukadubi based on Rabindranath Tagore’s classic Naukadubi. Gulzar, who has written the lyrics on Tagore’s poetry and music, released the music with Ghai. Anil Kapoor introduced the new talent on behalf of Mukta Arts.
Kashmakash stars Raima Sen, Jishu Sengupta, Riya Sen and Prosenjit Chatterjee.
Love Express directed by a Whistling Woods graduate Sunny Bhambhani stars four lead actors also from Whistling Woods International. It’s a love story set on a train with Punjabi family wedding as its backdrop.
Cycle Kick has been directed by Shashi Sudigala, the associate director of Iqbal starring two lead actors from the FTII (Film and Television Institute of India). This film is about two friends trying to achieve their respective goals and dreams in life and how something as a small as a cycle and a football become so important to them in making them realize their dreams.
Ghai has always been known for introducing and grooming new talent like Jackie Shroff, Madhuri Dixit, Meenakshi Sheshadri, Manisha Koirala, Mahima Chouwdhary and Isha Sharvani amongst others.
