Tandav to pump Rs 450 million in movies

MUMBAI: While making their debut film Khosla Ka Ghosla, nobody expected the small budget film to give big films a run for their money. But it did, somehow resurrecting the faith that it’s not about the big budgets but the big ideas that finally set the box office registers ringing.

Now, almost a year after the release of the film, the production house Tandav Film Entertainment has big plans up its sleeve. The latest is that the production house is planning a series of releases in the next one and a half year, with one film already in the pre-production stage.

Confirming the development to Businessofcinema.com, Tandav Film Entertainment CEO Savita Raj Hiremath says, “After the success of Khosla Ka Ghosla, we decided to allot a total of around Rs 450 million (Rs 45 crores) for our four new ventures. We plan to release these films over the next one and a half year and the shooting of our first film will commence in April 2008.”

Jaideep Sahni, who had penned Khosla Ka Ghosla would be part of the new projects too. Adds, Hiremath, “We are busy casting for our first project and it would be a genre on the lines of Khosla Ka Ghosla, but a new and refreshing story for sure.”
