MUMBAI: Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor is trying a slightly different look for his next big project ‘Rambo Rajkumar’.

Going rugged, the star has gotten himself tanned a few shades darker than his original complexion and is sporting a lean muscular look with a rough stubble.

A source close to the actor reveals, “The new stubble and tan has given him a rugged look, which is required for his role in his next film, Prabhudheva’s ‘Rambo Rajkumar’. ‘Rambo Rajkumar’ is an action packed film and Shahid has been doing heavy action sequences. He has also gained muscle weight for the same.”

In 2009, Shahid left his chocolate boy image far behind when he emerged as the stammering gangster in Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Kaminey’. Fans of the actor will surely be excited to see a new avatar this year.

“It’s really different from how he looks usually, which is interesting. People have told him that as well. So now he’s started liking it too,” adds the source, along with a confirmation of the news from Shahid’s spokesperson.

Prabhudeva’s ‘Rambo Rajkumar’ is a romantic-action film, where Shahid is expected to perform some hard-core action sequences.

In fact during a shoot of an action scene last weekend, the actor had a minor mishap when a chemical solution used to create fire dripped on to his back and arms. The solution was really hot and it bore holes into Shahid’s t-shirt causing minor burns on his back and arms.
