Tanushree Dutta’s action avatar exposed

MUMBAI: She can kick butt, both off screen and on the screen. Tanushree Dutta, who made big headlines when she refused to be cowed down by her producers and co-actors, is still fighting the bad men. But this time it is for a film called Rama – The Savior.

For her character in the children’s flick, Dutta has learnt taekwondo so that she can save the children in the film from the evil man. Dutta explained, "The children’s genre of fantasy adventure has not been explored. It is still in its nascent stage in India. And Rama the Savior, with its children’s theme will be a hit if it is released during the vacations."

Dutta shot in the jungles of Thailand for the film. And keeping her company was the wrestling sensation, Khalli.

Dutta stood up for her rights when the ugly spat on the sets of Horn Ok Pleasss took place while most had suggested her to backtrack as it would have a negative influence on her career. But Dutta said, "Post that incident, many projects came to me. I think everybody wanted to encash on that kind of publicity and I was offered some 50 projects. I turned all of them down as I felt that doing such kind of films would not lend any growth to my career. And I have learnt that saying, "Any publicity is good publicity." But thankfully I did not get swayed. I just want to do good films."

Tanushree is now waiting for the first release of the year, Rama- The Saviour.
