Television actress Roopa also known as Harpreet Kaur tried committing suicide few days back at Hussain Sagar lake in Hyderabad. The actress was found weeping near the lake trying to commit suicide but was saved by the Lake police before things got out of hand. Apparently the actress decided to end her life due to problems in her love life.
Actress Roopa has acted in hit television serials like Chandramukhi, Shikaram and Auto Bharati amongst others. The actress was reportedly in a live-in relationship with her boyfriend Keval Singh who works as a bank employee. The duo was staying together in a flat in Uppal since almost two years and recently Roopa came to know some hidden truth about Keval.
According to the police officials the actress gave a statement revealing the reason behind her suicide attempt. Reportedly, her boyfriend Keval Singh had urged the actress to quit working in serials and marry him. The talented actress went so far as to blindly believe him and quit her bright career in acting for the sake of love, but was later betrayed by the very man she trusted.
Keval Singh made fake promises to Roopa giving her the hopes of marriage but backed out in the end cheating on her. Unable to bear the pain and deal with the circumstances, Roopa decided to quit her life by jumping into lake Hussain Sagar. Inspector of Lake Police K. Sreedevi stated that after initial stage of enquiry, family members of the actress were called to the spot by police and were later sent to Petbasheerabad police station post proper counseling.
