2018 has been a remarkable year for the two big dream debuts. Janhvi Kapoor, who entered the industry with Karan Johar’s Hindi remake of Sairat, Dhadak, Sara Ali Khan who debuted on silver screen with Kedarnath. Since the time these two have come in Bollywood, comparisons between them are doing the rounds. Rumours doing the round is that the comparisons started with Kedarnath promotions and the whole marketing campaign revolved around their rivalry more than the content of the film or leading actor and director of Kedarnath.

While Janhvi Kapoor was spotted at the industry screening of Kedarnath held recently whereas Sara too was seen praising Dhadak and Janhvi’s performance in the film.

While there were comparisons earlier, now after the release of Kedarnath when the film failed to meet expectations, there are several news items saying Dhadak’s success is a mere because of the fact that it was a remake of a hit Marathi film and how comparing the track records of their respective debuts is unfair. The articles are even tagged Janhvi Kapoor as Karan Johar’s blue eyed girl knowingly that Sara walked out of the film earlier and signed another film with the same banner after Amrita intervened when Kedarnath seemed stuck due to financial controversies. On the other hand 21 year old Janhvi seems like a thorough professional and committed to her craft (there are reports of her learning required skills for her next two films). There were reports of Sara being unprofessional on sets of Kedarnath though the directed had refuted the reports later.

Dhadak got rave reviews while Kedarnath dropped in its very first week due to bad word of mouth.

It is a known fact that Dhadak earned 8 crores on its first day while Kedarnath somehow managed to earn 7 crores on Friday and with mixed to negative reviews, the film seems to face the wrath at the BO.

Whether the two actors are friends or competitors, industry seems to be buzzing with stories around them.
