Times Television Network to launch high-definition English movie channel

MUMBAI: The Times Television Network will soon be launching a new English movie channel called Movies Now. The channel will be targetted at the urban Indian audience and will be launched in the high definition (HD) format.

Movies Now will be available across analog, digital cable and DTH platforms throughout the pop strata of 1+ million towns in India. The channel is a part of Zoom Entertainment Network, the entertainment arm of Times Television Network.

Movies Now will give its viewers a whole new experience with stunning pictures in 1080i and awesome 5.1 surround sound. Viewers will get to watch the best of ‘Hollywood in HD’ for the first time in India.”

With an aim to enhance the movie watching experience at home, Movies Now has tied up with Hollywood studios, to procure the best of Hollywood titles, which are sure to be loved by viewers across India. The state of the art High Definition broadcast will ensure clearer, crisper picture quality, superior sound quality and a wider viewing experience.

Movies Now will see competition from English movie channels like Star Movies, HBO, Pix, Zee Studio, MGM, Big CBS Prime (to be launched in November, 2010).
