MUMBAI: The remake of Manmohan Desai’s Amar Akbar Anthony, which will be directed by David Dhawan, will now be produced by Ramesh Taurani of Tips instead of Sohail Khan Productions.
The remake was to star the three Khan brothers – Salman, Sohail and Arbaaz.
“We are now producing Amar Akbar Anthony, which will be directed by David Dhawan. It will go on floors in June 2007 and will star Khan brothers Salman (as Anthony played by Amitabh Bachchan), Sohail (as Akbar played by Rishi Kapoor) and Arbaaz Khan (as Amar played by Vinod Khanna),†says Taurani.
“The roles of Shabana Azmi, Neetu Singh, Parveen Babi and Pran have yet to be finalized. The budget has yet to be ascertained as we have yet to finalize the remaining cast and technicians,” he adds.
