MUMBAI: T-Series and Percept Picture Company have zeroed in on their five films, which are a part of the deal the duo signed last month.
As has already been reported, Nagesh Kukunoor’s two films Aashayein and Tasveer were to be part of this deal. Tasveer stars Akshay Kumar and Ayesha Takiya and is likely to go on floors on 5 September.
Additionally, Priyadarshan’s deal with Percept has also been made a part of the co-production deal. A senior official from T-Series informs Businessofcinema.com, “Priyadarshan will make two films for the companies. This includes an untitled film with Akshay Kumar and a Tamil film titled Kanjivaram.”
A sequel to Malamaal Weekly is also a part of this deal. “As of now Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav and Rajeev Kumar have been signed for the Malamaal Weekly sequel,” adds the official.
Malamaal Weekly was produced by Percept and directed by Priyadarshan. However, the sequel will not be directed by Priyadarshan.
