UTV Motion Pictures syndicates upcoming movie rights for Rs 707.5 million

MUMBAI: UTV Motion Pictures has signed syndication deals worth Rs 707.5 million for its upcoming movies with broadcasters and two music companies.

The syndication deals include television rights of three forthcoming movie releases namely I Hate Luv Storys, Guzaarish and Tees Maar Khan, while the audio rights also include that of Raajneeti.

However, the company didn’t divulge the names the companies that the deals have been signed with.

As was previously reported by Businessofcinema.com, UTV has a slate of 13 live action and two animation films in 2010-11. The company will be adopting a de-risking model, engaging in pre-sales as a strategy, which will cover up to anywhere as high as 50 per cent of its film production cost.
