MUMBAI: UTV Motion Pictures plans to release seven films before April next year.
UTV Motion Pictures senior manager – North Girish Johar says, “We are looking forward to another quarter-year of box-office hits. Starting from mid-December 2006, we have streamlined seven films on the release charts.”
The first one from UTV’s stable will be Bhagam Bhag directed by Priyadarshan and starring Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Govinda, Lara Dutta, Tanushree Dutta on 22 December. Then comes Blue Umbrella directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, which stars Pankaj Kapur and Shreya Sharma. This film will be released on 5 January 2007. Metro directed by Anurag Basu and starring Shilpa Shetty, Shiney Ahuja, Kangana Ranaut, Sharman Josy, Kay Kay Menon and Konkona Sen Sharma is slated to release on 16 February 2007.
Hattrick directed by Milan Luthria and starring Nana Patekar, Naseeruddin Shah, Kunal Kapoor and Rimi Sen will be released on 9 March 2007. Worldwide release of Mira Nair’s Namesake starring Tabu, Irrfan Khan, Kal Penn, Jacinda Barrett and Zuleikha Robinson will hit theatres on 23 March 2007.
The last two releases of the quarter from UTV will be the worldwide release of I Think I Love My Wife directed by Chris Rock, in which he also stars that will be released towards the end of March. Fear directed by Vikram Bhatt will release on 13 April 2007.
