MUMBAI: UTV World Movies will be screening eight of its world cinema films at the Pune International Film Festival.
The festival was launched in pursuit of bringing the best in celluloid to the audiences of Pune in 2002. The world cinema movies of 35 mm print will be screened at the fest from 8 – 15 January 2009.
The movies to be screened are as follows:
French movie Meurtrières (Murderers) directed by Patrick Grandperret,
Mexican movie La Zona directed by Rodrigo Plá,
three Argentianian films namely Ciudad en celo (City in Heat), Abrígate (Wrap Up) and Soñar no cuesta nada (A Ton of Luck) directed by Hernán Gaffet, Ramón Costafreda and Rodrigo Triana respectively,
German movie Die Fälscher (The Counterfeiters) directed by Stefan Ruzowitzky,
Iranian movie Avaze gonjeshk-ha (The Song of Sparrows) directed by Majid Majidi and French movie J’ai toujours rêvé d’être un gangster (I Always Wanted to Be a Gangster) directed by Samuel Benchetrit.
