UTV’s Wednesday shoot wrapped up

MUMBAI: UTV Motion Pictures wrapped up the shooting of Wednesday on 15 May 2007.

The film has been directed by debutant Neeraj Pandey and stars Naseeruddin Shah, Anupam Kher, Jimmy Shergill, Amir Bashir and Deepal Shaw. The film is touted to be a drama thriller and revolves around a particular incident that takes place on a Wednesday.

Pandey informs, “This film is an absolute work of fiction, not based on any real life incident. The script was written within seven days. It is about an incident that takes place on a Wednesday from 2 pm to 6 pm.” Pandey has earlier directed and written telefilms, including one with Kay Kay Menon, titled Ittefaq.

UTV’s vice president marketing and communication Siddharth Roy Kapur says, “The film is budgeted at approximately Rs 40 million (Rs four crore). We are eyeing an August/ September release for the film.”

In the film, Shergill plays an Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) officer, Bashir plays a cop and Shaw plays a journalist. It is Nasseruddin Shah’s character that Pandey is reluctant to divulge, as it is the one that adds the element of thrill to the film.

Wednesday is being jointly produced by Shital Bhatia, Anjum Rizvi and UTV and is currently in its post production stages at the UTV post production studios.
