Varma’s Sarkar Raj script selected for Oscars library

Mumbai: Ram Gopal Varma’s Sarkar Raj has been chosen for the Academy of Motion Pictures library (Oscar). The script of Sarkar Raj will be available permanently for the reference of cinema students.

Sarkar Raj featured all three Bachchans – Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan together for the first time. The film, which is a sequel of Sarkar, is based on politics and highlights the power games. The academy got in touch with Varma to produce the script. "Yes, the academy got in touch with me and Sarkar Raj is going to the library, I am happy to receive this honour," said Varma.

US India Business Alliance (USIBA) facilitated Sarkar Raj’s induction to the library.

The library has a collection of more than 32,000 books, 1,800 periodical titles, 60,000 screenplays, lobby cards, over eight million photographs, over 300 manuscripts and other special collections relating to prominent industry individuals, studios and organizations, sheet music, music scores and sound recordings, production and costume sketches, artifacts and oral history.
