MUMBAI: Noted yesteryear actress Leela Naidu, passed away yesterday in Mumbai after a long illness. The veteran actress was 69.
Naidu has acted in a number of Hindi films and made her debut in Balraj Sahni’s Anuradha in 1960. The film won the National Award for best film.
The actress has also acted in films like Yeh Raaste Hain Pyar Ke opposite Sunil Dutt, Ummeed, The Householder and The Guru. She got married to businessman Tikki Oberoi whom she later divorced. She then tied the knot with poet Dom Moraes.
In 1985 made a comeback with Shyam Benegal’s Trikaal and went on to do Pradip Krishen’s Electric Moon.
