Vikram Phadnis to direct movie for Venus

MUMBAI: Bollywood fashion designer Vikram Phadnis has now turned director. Phadnis will direct a film for Venus. According to sources, the film will star Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit.

Dixit will be making her comeback to Bollywood by this movie, which is slated to go on floors next month.

“I had a desire to direct a film and finally my dream is fulfilled. I have been signed on to direct a film for Venus Movies, which is yet untitled. The film is not on the fashion world, as one would have thought likely, but is an emotional love story,” says Phadnis.

However, when queried on the starcast, Phadnis refused to divulge any details. “Talks are on with top star, whom I don’t want to name at present,” he says. 

Phadnis has designed clothes for Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Sushmita Sen, Priyanka Chopra, Bipasha Basu, Akshaye Khanna, Bobby Deol and Amitabh Bachchan. He has also dressed international cricketers like Glenn McGrath, Jonty Rhodes, Andy Flower, Wasim Akram and Harbhajan Singh for an ad campaign; besides having styled the costumes for cricketers like Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar for their endorsements of some brands.
