No, Sanjay Desai isn’t some new entrant into Bollywood, or a producer or director that’s common between Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and TV star Kushal Tandon. Desai, incidentally, is the doctor who operated on Shah Rukh Khan, who will now take care of Tandon.
Kushal, who was participating in the telly reality TV show Khatron Ke Khiladi, has opted out of the show due to his worsening shoulder injury. He will undergo surgery with Dr. Sanjay Desai, a name that was suggested by SRK’s good friend and the show’s host Rohit Shetty.
Said Kushal, “I had already torn the labrum tissue of my shoulder but with physiotherapy I managed to do the stunts in Khatron Ke Khiladi. However, during the boot camp stunt which was akin to a commando drill, I hurt myself again and only surgery can help now.”
Speaking about the injury and the particular stunt that caused his elimination, Kushal added: “But, I not only completed the stunt with one hand, I won it.”
Kushal even spoke about his ladylove Gauahar Khan, with whom he appeared on the action-based show. “It was great that we did the show together. When the person you love is with you it gives you a great support. We would like to work with each other, but as of now there’s nothing in the pipeline. We are focussing on our individual careers.”
Touching upon his future plans, the handsome television star said: “I am taking a three-month break, and after the surgery, will be working on my fitness and gear up for my film debut. I am reading several scripts and hope to start a film by the end of this year.”
Speaking dismissively of new entrant on the show, and former Bigg Boss inmate Ajaz Khan, Kushal said, “Ajaz is a wild card entrant. You will see for yourself that he hasn’t been able to do any stunts and will be out in the next two weeks. As for his claims of me being affected by him I don’t even want to react. One doesn’t react to barking dogs. He is just riding on my fame.”
