Director Bryan Singer has announced the cast for much awaited X Men : Apocalypse via Twitter! Sophie Turner, who was earlier seen as Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones, will play the uber-telepath Jean Grey. She’ll play a young Jean, a role that was with Famke Janssen earlier. Singer Aaliyah from last year’s Lifetime biopic, Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B, Alexandra Shipp has bagged the role of Storm, a character that had earlier been personified by the gorgeous Halle Berry. Tye Sheridan, the tough-looking actor in his teens who appeared in The Tree of Life, Joe and Mud will be seen as Cyclops, replacing James Marsden.

Oscar Isaac, will play the bad guy Apocalypse, along with James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence. Apocalypse is reportedly a concluding chapter for the First Class X-Men. The new stars may or may not be central figures. They might as well be introduced as a new class altogether, which would take the franchise ahead. More casting announcements are expected from Singer over the next few months!
